My first entry... Exciting...

Ok... So... I'm getting ready to go to an eight week taxidermy course in rural Montana... I leave on Friday.
This is my first trip away from my family and boyfriend, Mason... Needless to say, I'm petrified, but I'm sure I'll survive ;)

After packing, unpacking, and packing again, I've been able to stuff everything on my two page checklist into two medium sized rolling luggage bags. Quite a feat, seeing as most travelers don't have to pack towels and a full set of bedding for a two month trip. Those items come furnished with the hotel they're staying at. I, however, need to bring those items with me.

It only took me an hour and a half of pain and suffering to get my total checked luggage bags from three, to two, with two bags for carry on. Only four bags total. Impressive, I know...

I've made little checklists, and tacked them up all over the house so I don't forget any last minute items. Like a hairbrush, or purse, or bag. You know, the little things you can't live without. Knowing me, once I get on the plane, I'll remember something I forgot to put on one of the reminder lists.

As of this moment I'm scared, excited, and nervous... But I can't wait to go. Or rather, get off the plane. I don't like planes... Or turbulence. Especially alone. I've only been on a plane once, to Hawaii, when I was in the second grade. This time around, I'm in the way back of the plane, next to a window. So I can watch the ground and make sure it stays where it should be. I chose the back of the plane because planes don't back into mountains... Hahaha. Sorry, I liked it.

Anyway, I have to get up super early on Saturday, drive an hour and change to Sacramento International Airport, climb onto a big 'ol jet, take off, fly around for a while, get off the plane and switch to another one, take off again, fly around some more, land, get off that plane, (hopefully) get all my luggage, find Steve, go grocery shopping, and drive for a few hours to my destination... Yes, I'm doing all of this voluntarily.

Ohh! Here's one for ya... A few weeks ago, I had to get both a tetanus shot, and a TB test, in order to go to this school. For those who know me, the fact that I actually went through with that can see how motivated I am. I hate injections. With a passion. But I lived through it. If you can believe it. I still can't. Wasn't even as bad as getting my tattoo on my foot.

My dad helped me get this site up and partially running... The computer genius that he is. I'm having fun trying to think of fun filled information to cram into this site. This blog thing is a little strange, but why not journal all the stuff I gotta go through to get this business up and running. Fun, huh?

On top of that, my parents have given me a place for me to set up my shop, and Mason's going to build equipment for me... This whole experience is gonna be great... I'm so jazzed!! Till next time... Trina
